RBI Grade B 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should be able to fulfill the mentioned requirements to be able to apply online for RBI Grade B Exam. It is important that the candidates check out the detailed eligibility criteria before filling out the application form.
Nationality
The candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who is permanently settled in India before January 1, 1962, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from either Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam intending to reside permanently in India.

Given below are the educational qualification requirements to join RBI as a Grade B officer as per the vacancies in RBI Grade B Recruitment 2023.
(a) Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–(General): Minimum 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations. The minimum qualifying percentage or an equivalent grade for the Bachelor’s degree will be in aggregate for all semesters/years
(b) Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–DEPR: A Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute.
(c) Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–DSIM: Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade (aggregate of all semesters/years) OR Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a reputed Institute OR M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks (aggregate of all semesters/years) OR Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.

RBI Grade B Previous Year Question Paper
RBI Grade B 2023 Selection Process
The RBI Grade B selection process consists of three stages –
- Phase I
- Phase II
- Interview.
Phase I comprises objective-type questions on the English language, quantitative aptitude, reasoning, and general awareness. Phase II is divided into three papers covering economic and social issues, English writing skills, and finance and management. Finally, candidates who clear Phase II are called for the Interview stage. RBI Grade B Exam Pattern
RBI Grade B 2023 Exam will be conducted in three phases:
- Phase-I or Prelims;
- Phase-II or Mains
- Interview
Candidates are required to clear all three phases to get a confirmed post as a Grade B Officer in the Reserve Bank of India. The Final merit list will be based on candidates’ performance in the main exam and interview round.
RBI Grade B Exam Pattern For Prelims Exam
- The RBI Grade B Prelims exam will be 200 marks with a total time duration of 120 minutes.
- There will be a specific sectional duration which will be mentioned in the admission letter.
- There will mainly be four sections
RBI Grade B Exam Pattern For Mains Exam
The candidates who qualify for the Prelims will be eligible to appear for the mains exam or Phase 2.
- There are three separate papers in the main exam.
- For RBI Grade B Officers in Gr B (DR)- General, candidates have to appear for papers I, II, and III.
- For RBI Grade B Officers in Gr B (DR)- DEPR & DSIM, candidates have to appear for Paper-II and III.
- Paper I & III are 50% Objective & 50 % descriptive while Paper- II is Descriptive only.
- Each paper will be 100 marks.
- The English paper is a descriptive test.
Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III of the Phase II exam. The interview process will carry 75 marks.

RBI Grade B Salary Structure
The candidates selected for the post of Officer through the RBI Grade B 2023 Exam will be given a salary of 12-14 Lac annually. The Exact Pay Scale for the RBI Grade B Officer is Rs 55,200-2850(9)-80850-EB-2850(2)-86550-3300(4)-99750. Candidates will have a Basic Pay of Rs. 55,200/- in which he/she will get an increment of Rs. 2850/- till nine years of their service.
After the completion of these nine years, the officers will get into the executive band wherein the basic pay will increase to Rs. 80,850/- and then again for the next two years there will be an increment of Rs. 2850/- and further an increment of Rs. 3300/- for the following 4 years. Thus a candidate will be ending up with the basic pay of Rs. 99,750/- and this is when he/she doesn’t even go through any promotion.
Apart from the Basic Pay, multiple allowances such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, etc. are also provided to candidates post they’re joining to the post of Officer in RBI.
RBI Grade B 2023 Admit Card
Candidates who are going to appear in the exam must download RBI Grade B Admit Card from the direct link or official website. The admit card for RBI Grade B Exam is issued to candidates separately for Prelims & Mains. Candidates who successfully submit their RBI Grade B Online Application Form will be issued a Prelims Call Letter and the Mains Admit Card is issued to candidates who will qualify for the prelims round of the RBI Grade B 2023 Exam.
