22 states and 3 union territories participated in this
Releasing the ranking on Friday, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said 22 states and 3 union territories have participated in it. This ranking has been decided on the basis of providing a better ecosystem for budding entrepreneurs to establish new businesses. According to the ranking framework published in 2019, 30 points are awarded based on improvement in seven areas. This time the ranking has been given by dividing the states into two categories ‘Y’ and ‘X’. All Union Territories except Category Y Assam and Delhi have been included. All other states and union territories have been included in the X category. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands have become the best performers in the Y category.

Goyal said that the ‘Fund of Funds’ is supporting him in the matter of financing startups and many PSUs are moving forward with setting up dedicated funds for startups. He also sent a message to startups that they should focus on three products ‘P’ (Product), Process (Process), People (People) to promote India’s self-sufficiency.

DPIIT Secretary Guruprasad Mohapatra said on the occasion that the department has so far identified 36,000 startups. He said that all states are working to promote budding entrepreneurs. He said that four lakh job opportunities have been created in the country due to the initial work and the creation of a conducive environment. In the ranking, the states, union territories have been classified into five categories.
Best performing states after Gujarat
Bihar, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan and Chandigarh have been ranked among the best performing states after Gujarat. On the other hand, Haryana, Jharkhand, Punjab, Telangana, Uttarakhand and Nagaland have been included in the aspirational leader category. Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Mizoram and Sikkim have been ranked among the states with an emerging ecosystem of startups.undefined
